Accessibility statement

We want this website to be usable by everyone, including people with disabilities. It was built to meet the Israeli Equal Rights for Persons with Disabilities (Service Accessibility Adjustments) Regulations, 2013, and Israeli Standard IS 5568 (2023 edition) at level AA, which is based on WCAG 2.0, as well as WCAG 2.2 at level AA.

What we did

  • Full keyboard navigation, a "Skip to content" link and a clearly visible focus indicator: Tab and Shift+Tab move between items, Enter activates, Esc closes the menu.
  • A consistent structure of headings and regions, with the language and text direction declared on every page.
  • Colour contrast that meets the requirements, and text that can be enlarged to 200% without losing content.
  • Text alternatives for images; decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers.
  • Animations respect your device’s reduced-motion setting, and the "Reduce motion" button at the bottom of every page stops them. The moving strip of journal names has a pause button.
  • Layouts that adapt to small screens and zoomed text without horizontal scrolling.
  • No forms, time limits or flashing content.
  • The site works with the Chrome, Safari and Firefox browsers and the VoiceOver screen reader.

Known limitations

  • Links to external websites (hospitals, health funds, PubMed) lead to sites outside our control; their accessibility is the responsibility of their operators.
  • Titles of scientific papers appear in their original language, English.
  • The site has no embedded third-party content (videos, maps or forms).

Physical accessibility

This website provides information only and does not receive visitors. Scans take place at Wolfson Medical Center and at Meuhedet and Leumit clinics; information about physical accessibility arrangements is available from each of them.
